Some people argue that all social innovation cannot be structured because it is unavoidably a process of improvisation – a dynamic captured in the helter-skelter flight patterns of a butter-fly. Others argue that innovation can be planned and organized like a blue-print and real attention to “rigorously” implementation. The truth is that the process of innovation is somewhere between a butterfly and a blueprint. This session explores the emerging frameworks and practices of social innovation that can help community builders navigate the challenge of tackling complex issues.
